Fred Jordan Missions was founded as a non-denominational, non-sectarian human service organization by the Rev. Fred Jordan on December 8, 1944. The Mission was located at the corner of 5th and Towne Avenue in the heart of Los Angeles’ Skid Row, where it remains to this day. The Rev. Jordan passed away in 1988, and today the Mission is active and vibrant under the leadership of his wife, Willie Jordan, who worked by his side for over 40 years, managing the Mission and working with the poor and homeless.
